After the bus picks up Lauren we decide to drive out to a place called Hacienda Pinilla. We check out he beach and when it is time to return the car will not start. Turns a out a fuse that operates the fuel and engine has completely melted away. We finally plug out the headlight fuse and tape that on top of the melted mess and it works, but once on the dirt road it shakes on and off turning the car on and off - which is fun when you are in loose sand. We wonder if Lauren will arrive home to a locked house before us. When I saw this video I realize that I really do need to pop for the $11 can of shaving cream at Super Compro. I walk down tonight after dinner.
Apparently the height which you can drop an iPhone from and expect the screen to smash to bits. Otherwise, the Sleeping Beauty play practice was pretty fun. Tomorrow Lauren's first Surf Club meeting - I will leave the phone at home
Nancy has a tooth problem and promptly emails Dr. Paul our dentist and friend back home. First thing I said is "He's going to want a picture" "is not" "is so" How do you think that turned out?
Almost every room in every house here has a ceiling fan and an AC unit with a remote called a split. You can chill down a room in minutes with a split, but empty your wallet just as quickly. EVERYONE has WARNED us to be extremely careful with electricity down here. Using the AC can skyrocket your bill from several hundred a month to $600 to $800. We are liking the fan, but tonight we finally broke down and treated ourselves to several hours of AC in the living room until bedtime.
We went to Playa Grande, our favorite beach, - the first time we've spent the day at the ocean since we arrived. We're still consumed with finding a new place to live. For lunch, we stopped at Bula Bula's and met the 2 guys from Santa Cruz who opened the business 10 years ago. We started talking and found out they manage 34 properties on Playa Grande. I jumped in the 4x4 with Wally and we looked at some houses. Most the available dates did not match ours, but we might have some possible leads. Meanwhile Lauren jumped in their pool. That's right, it seems that a lot of lunch and dinner places have a pool on site and you can jump in. I had an 8 oz burger made from ground New York strip which tasted much different because it is not corm fed beef. The parrot was 11 months old and fell off his perch when we were eating. He just got a little too excited.
